🇮🇪 Let’s go to Ireland 🇮🇪
🇮🇪 It's often said that Ireland is home to more four-leaf clovers than any other place, giving meaning to the phrase "the luck of the Irish." Make a four leaf clover with the children and then go on a walk and see if you can find any clovers.
🇮🇪 The Leprechaun is one of Ireland’s more famous characters from Irish folklore. They have become renowned all over the world. The mischievous Irish Leprechaun has captured the imagination of millions of people over the years. Use a cuddly toy or a character to pretend to get up to mischief throughout the house a bit like elf on the shelf! Have fun with it!
🇮🇪 Ireland has the capital I at the beginning which is very important for children to understand that when the I is on its own it becomes a capital letter. Encourage the children to find all the capital letter I that you have hidden around the house and then bring them back to verbally make sentences. Such as I am the best, I like to run, I am funny etc.
🇮🇪 Check out the flag! What’s the difference between this flag and Germanys? The stripes are the other way round! Let the children have a go at making the flag with different materials. Use some scissors to encourage fine motor skills too!
